We love decorating our Christmas tree a little different every year.  Last year we did our tree all in seashell ornaments after our trip to the beach and the few years before we did our tree with all of my painted peg doll ornaments.

This year we wanted something new, but I wanted it to feel personal to our family.  We recently adopted a new family member, our African grey named Sidney and I had gotten a picture of him printed off for a picture frame at home.  That's when I realized it would be fun to have all of our ornaments be photos of our family!

What you'll need:

About 30-40 printed pictures (I used 30 for my skinny 7.5' tall tree)
3" wood circles  (as many as you have pictures)
hot glue gun and glue
jute twine

Take one of your circles and trace it's shape around each of your photos.

Then just cut it out and use your hot glue gun to glue your pictures onto your wood circles.

To make your ornament hanger, cut a piece of twine about 2.5 - 3" long, tie the ends together in a knot and glue the knot into place on the back of your ornament.  Make sure you glue it on so that the picture will be facing the correct way.

When you have them all done you're ready to decorate the tree.  I just love how it turned out and it really is so special to see all of our older family photos, pictures of the kids when they were little and of course, our sweet pets.  When we had the tree all finished my son said "this is definitely my favorite tree we've ever done".
