I love stained glass windows.  I always loved looking at the big windows in church and wished I had windows like those in my home one day.  Since I didn't buy a home with stained glass windows I wanted to  find a way to add them to my kitchen window that faces east and gets so much sunshine in the morning and these were perfect!

What you'll need:

picture frames
a printed picture (or you can free hand a design)
permanent marker
glue (regular school glue)
acrylic paints
paint brush
clear acrylic spray sealer

Start by carefully taking the glass out of your picture frame.  Since I can not free hand draw anything, I printed off a picture of a succulent that I like.  I printed it off the size of my picture frame so that it would fit perfectly.  Lay your picture under your frame, tape it in place, and then trace around the edges and all the details with your permanent marker.  I traced around each succulent piece and used my marker to draw on the cactus prickers.

When you have your design traced onto your glass, you're ready for your paint.  I wanted a variety of colors so I have quite a few different color options.  I poured seperate globs of glue onto some wax paper and added a bit of acrylic paint to each glob of glue.  Mix them up and you're ready to "paint".

Then just start painting your design with your glue.  You don't need a lot of glue, just enough to fill in your design.

Once your entire design has dried, use some acrylic spray sealer to cover the entire painted side to help protect the glue and paint.

When it's completely dry you can bring it in and set it in your window.  I love how it adds some pretty color to the window and kitchen every morning!
