I love dollar store crafts, but especially when they don't like dollar store crafts ;)  These little ornaments are perfect!  They have an almost farmhouse rustic look and you can make so many ornaments for so little.

What you will need:

tumbling tower game
jute twine
round wood beads
acrylic paint
drill and small drill bit
sandpaper
paint marker or small letter stamps

Head to your dollar store to see if you can find this tumbling tower game.  These will be the actual wood ornaments you are going to use.  Start by taking them out and using a drill and a small drill bit to drill a hole near the top center of each of your wood pieces.  Once you have all of your holes drilled, use a bit of sandpaper just to make sure you have all the sharp edges off.

Once you have all your holes drilled, give it a good coat or 2 of paint.  I used white acrylic paint, but you can use any color or a variety of colors if you would like.  Once it is all dried you can use a thin paint marker or I just used small stamps (since I don't care for my handwriting) to write down holiday themed words, family names, etc on my ornaments.

Once you have all of your words or names put on your ornaments you can add some twine and a wooden bead to dress it up and give it a way to hang on your tree.  Aren't they just adorable little ornaments?  You could even use them as gift tags or even keychains!
