Scrubs are perfect for rough spots on heels, dry hands and elbows as well as for exfoliating arms, legs, face and lips.  The sugar scrubs off the dead skin while the oil helps with the friction, spread the sugar and hydrate the skin.

Most of my scrubs are made with white sugar, but you can also use brown sugar or different types of salt.  The oil is your choice as well, but my favorites are grapeseed, olive oil and sunflower.  I le coconut oil, but living in cold Wisconsin, my coconut oil is more solid than it is soft.

You need:

1 cup sugar
1/3 cup oil - my favorite oil to use is grapeseed
Optional:  you can also add in a few drops of essential oils.  Stir these together and store them in an airtight container.  You can even fancy them up and give them as I gifts.  I used these 4oz wide mouth jars - they were the perfect gift giving size and the wide mouth makes it much easier to scoop out the scrub.

To use:

Scoop out a small amount, scrub it on and rinse it off with water.  Dry it off then feel it.  Isn't it soft and smooth?!

CAUTION:  DO NOT USE IN THE SHOWER.  Oil and water can cause a very slippery situation!

do it yourself
